Lightwoods Park Skatepark
Lightwoods skatepark is a medium sized, all concrete skatepark that can be found on the west side of Birmingham and consists of both transition and street elements.
The skatepark starts on one side with a curved flat bank that leads along the side of the street section, which features a two tiered ledge, an adjacent manny pad with ledge and a small rail. Following on from this is the transitions section which consists of a back and forth section, made up of two facing quarter pipes and a spine in the middle, with a speed bowl and a mini ramp afterwards. Next to this section is an open, flat area that can be used for flatland tricks.
This is a great local spot with something for everyone, whether you are a street or transitions skater. There is a decent selection of obstacles and the surfaces are smooth, making this a great place for beginners to learn the basics as well as experienced skaters looking for some challenging lines.
