Park EAST Skatepark (Lowestoft)

Lowestoft’s Park EAST Skatepark, also known as Lowestoft Skatepark, is an all concrete park that can be found in Normanston Park. The skatepark was built by Bendcrete and opened in 2009. It is a large skatepark and has both a street section and a large bowl as well.

The street section starts on the back side with a raised platform that holds a shallow open sided bowled area, on one side there is a flat bank leading down with a stair set and rail and hubbas. On the other side there is another flat bank that sticks out a little bit and has a euro gap, driveway, hubba and rail. Following on from this is a hipped bank adjoined to the side of a jump box and the street course finishes with a quarter pipe.

The transitions section starts with a large roll over that leads up to a roll in on the corner of the bowl. The bowl here is split into two sections that apart from the roll in has metal coping around the edges and each section is set at differing heights. One half is a rectangular shape with an over vert on the side and the other side is a triangular bowl with a large extension on one corner. They are linked in each corner with a shallower square section and spined along their long sides.

Park EAST skatepark is a great local spot and has something for everyone of all abilities, whether you are a street or transitions skater. The surfaces are smooth and fast and the obstacles have been creatively arranged to make good use of the available space. You should get yourself down here if you are in the area and check it out.
