Radcliffe Skatepark

Radcliffe skatepark is made up of concrete ramps on a tarmac base, split over two levels.

The top level is mostly flat with a group made up of small stepped ledges, metal bar and “spine” that isn’t really a spine, plus very small, steep funbox and deathbox, both of which are very degraded.

The transition from the higher to lower level has a pumpable humped roll-in down to the kidney shaped ramp below, a set of ~4-5 stairs with hubbas either side that have quarter pipe on the outside.

The lower level has a small mini-ramp in the middle which hips out to quarter pipes which make a rough quarter-bowl on each side, with slightly different features on both sides. There is also a kidney-shaped sloped flat-topped “box” with quarter pipe and coping round the edges – the ramps on the bottom side are very mellow.

It was built intended for all disciplines and abilities. and, overall, this is a pretty good park for all levels except for the fact that it’s slow due to the flatbottom surface. If it were re-surfaced all over, it would be an excellent park.

Radcliffe Skatepark opened in December 2002, costing £185,000 to build.
