Wherrytown Skatepark (Penzance)

Wherrytown is one of two skateparks in Penzance and was opened in 2013 by Freestyle. It is an all concrete plaza style street course set in a picturesque spot right on the coastline.

The skatepark is set on two levels and on one side is a raised platform with a pole jam and a curved ledge. Connecting the upper level to the lower level is a flat bank with a rail and lined with two hubbas and this leads into the main body of the skatepark. This features a a kicker gap, a funbox with adjoinging manny pad, a pump bump and a flat & roll over rail, with two hips running along one side. The end of the course finishes with two hipped quarter pipes that can be rolled in off to start your lines with some speed.

This is a great local park with a heavy focus on street style skating and the surfaces are smooth with a wide variation in obstacles to hit. The obstacles here are also set up in a creative way meaning that you could easily spend a day here hitting all the lines or simply just learning the basics.
