The Unit Skatepark

The Unit skatepark is one of Cornwalls onyl indoor skatepark and is housed in a 7,500 sq ft. warehouse just outside Launceston. It is made up of wooden ramps on a concrete base and is mainly a transitions based park with a few street elements thrown in.

On the entrance to the skatepark is a wide, flat bottomed mini ramp with three different heights with coping along the edge. On the opposite wall of the warehouse to this is a large quarter pipe next to a smaller one that lead up to a jump box run which finishes with another quarter pipe. In between the two of these is a small street section which houses a funbox with rail and some ledges.

The back end of the park is surrounded with a bowled edge and is solely a transitions area with a series of spines, volcanoes, kickers and quarter pipes in the usual arrangement.

This is a great indoor park, with a nice set of obstacles that can be tackled by riders of all abilities. The surfaces are smooth and the arrangement is strong with a lot of space between the obstacles giving more time to adjust between tricks. It is a great palce to come to practise the basics or even for more experienced riders looking for a challenge.
